About

Meet the Nerdiest Man on Earth: Me.

Here, you'll get a closer look at who I am through my passions, interests, and the things that have shaped me. Dive into my hobbies and personal story to learn what drives me and makes me unique..

Who Am I

Oh, hello there! Right away, there are two things that you should know about me. First, I’m extremely funny, and love all kinds of humor. Secondly, I live with Cerebral Palsy, which for me, affects my physical functions. I use an eyegaze system to communicate with peers, and complete work. Anything you can do with a keyboard and mouse, I can do with my eyes.

Throughout my life, I’ve moved a few times. I was born on the Sunshine Coast, then lived on Texada Island for a few years before spending the last ten years in the Oceanside area. I have managed to create a circle of friends and family around me who are constantly challenging me to make the most of life. The people in my circle care about my academic performance, musical interests, and overall wellbeing.

  • Music

Whether it is listening to a CD, curating playlists, or strumming my guitar, I find enjoyment in music daily. I listen to various styles such as indie, country, and rock and roll, and am always on the lookout for new finds. My collection of CDs is something that I take pride in. Throughout the years, I have attended all kinds of events and concerts such as The Squamish Valley Music Festival, Sunfest, The Bahamas, Snow Patrol, and Blue Rodeo, as well as a trip to Nashville and Memphis. I value music that comes across as authentic and has an acoustic component.

  • Adventuring

I have been biking and camping for as long as I can remember. My camping adventures include Denman Island, Texada Island, Banff, and up and down Vancouver Island. I also look forward to a good road trip. My family is all about the next adventure. Over this past summer, we paddleboarded around Okanagan Lake. I loved it! Another favorite activity is skiing. For the past nine years, I’ve been part of Vancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports. Through this organization, I have learned how to drive a sitski with complete independence. After each lesson, I feel exhilarated and accomplished.

My Musical Taste

Some people say that I have a taste of a 52 year old – according to Spotify, that’s true! I enjoy tracks that have a sense of craftsmanship. My favorite band right now is Blue Rodeo. I enjoy their music, because it’s easy to play and sing along to. Their songs are about relatable subjects, and it is just really good content. I’ve created a playlist of songs that have the most meaning to me and illustrate my musical preferences.
